KinkBNB: The New Platform For Kinky Vacations Which Will Never Work In Malaysia

Malaysia has been a hot bed for cases of public displays of nudity and sexual misconducts. We had a former model gone shirtless in Petaling Street, and just recently, a couple was spotted having sex in the balcony of a Bangsar South apartment. According to The Star Online, a cleaner who works at the apartment said that couples are always “doing it out in the open” and that most of the residents are expats. She was quoted, “It’s gross because I have to clean it up later.”

Making love is alright, as long as it’s at your own territory, where nobody can see you and your partner in action. In this case, a balcony is just not the right place to hang it all out (pun intended). To avoid being caught red-handed (with anything that’s not supposed to be in your hand when you’re in public), just get a room.

As quoted by Bustle, hotels can be a good place to spice up your night because everything is fresh and clean, but now we have discovered something that is even more interesting, especially for couples who are into BDSM.

Launched on the 1st of May, KinkBNB is founded in San Francisco by Darren McKeeman and Ryan Galiotto. “The business was inspired after a friend of mine had a listing incident with Airbnb,” Darren said during an interview with The Huffington Post. “They rejected her place because there were sex toys visible in the photos.”

Building your own playroom can be very expensive, unless you’re a billionaire like Christian Grey, so why not rent it? Kinkbnb.com is like a combination of Airbnb and Fifty Shades of Grey, it allows user to book a playroom for couples to have their own BDSM fantasies around the world. In fact, it’s even better than a sex dungeon because it comes with free breakfast, wifi, parking, like most other normal Bed & Breakfast hotels.

Will This Concept Work In Malaysia?

The website is accessible in Malaysia at the moment, but judging from what the local government has done on BDSM material, such as banning the Fifty Shades of Grey book series and movie, the website will probably be banned in Malaysia sooner or later.

Nevertheless, the website is not as sexy as I imagined it would be and it looks like any other accommodation-for-rent website. I half expected it to have suspicious-looking pop ups but there were none. The reservation process is similar to Airbnb whereby users can look the available dates and places to rent, or list their own property for rent, and of course KinkBNB takes a cut from the reservations made.

Currently according to their research, the top #KinkiestCities are New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, and Chicago.

The concept will be a hit, according to Darren in Stuff.co.nz, “This is a tool to make it more acceptable and normal for us. Right now, travelling is kind of difficult. You can’t really bring anything with you.”

According to News Australia, the response towards KinkBNB is pretty good. Darren said that the response from within the community has been “overwhelmingly positive” and that they are trying to create a “sex-positive environment.”

However, with Malaysia being one of the world’s most morally conservative country, the website will never be able to expand its services to our shores. On the plus side, if you’re travelling overseas and you want to try something different, you now have another option.
